Clinic – How to gain those extra marks in your dressage test @ Water Farm
Jan 11 @ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

If you can ride down the centre line, halt at X, proceed to C, turn left or right, ride the corner and receive 10 marks for the movement, then your horse is ready for Grand Prix and you will certainly win …        “Reiner Klimke”

What he wanted to get across is that accurate riding together with good use of the arena combined with a few other general principals can get you those extra points that will make all the difference to your result, even if you are not a Grand Prix rider
Bring some of your test score sheets along, we have a look what the judge is pointing out and how to gain points at your next competition
There will be 2 clinic slots on the day. The first from 10 am – 12.00 am, the second from 12.00 am to 2.00 pm and both will have a maximum of 4 riders in it.

Clinic – Riding to Music – Workshop @ Water Farm
Jan 18 @ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

This clinic will be divided into 3 sessions working towards a bespoke Kur for you and your horse. It is designed to lead you step by step to the finished article.

The first session will be a workshop/group session. There are 2 slots available on the day each lasting 2 hours with a maximum of 4 riders in each and we work together on the following;

  • There is a  difference between  riding ‘with’ music and riding ‘too’ music’
  • We choreograph together a floor plan that shows off your horses strengths,  keeping the less good aspects to a minimum.
  • We establish your horses beats in walk, trot and canter using a metronome.
  • We look for music that suits your horse and reflects your taste

The two follow up sessions you book individually at a time of your convenience and work with me to

  • Ride to your music choices to see what suits your horse best
  • Ride the draft floor plan of your Kur, see if it works and time the sections
  • add your choice of music to your floor plan
  • Ride your floor plan and your  music together, make adjustments and fine tune it all.
  • Putting it together ready to take part in the Riding to Music competitions starting 20th April 2020.

Cost of the individual sessions is £ 30.

Pole clinic / Cavaletti – Starter Training @ Water Farm
Jan 25 @ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Pole work also known as Cavaletti work helps your horse build muscles and find balance.

We start with straight lines, cones, some raised poles, large circles and working out distances

Depending on the level of difficulty pole work  is a very effective way to:

  • Improve leg activity
  • develop loose-ness
  • Aid flexion  and impulsion
  • improve collection or extension of steps
  • quicken reaction time
  • encourage exact riding
  • and more…………..

And better still, cavalettis are a lot of fun!

There will be 2 lots on the day, each 1 hour 45 minutes long with a maximum of 4 riders in each session
